"In recent years, Niseko has become world famous for its deep and consistently fluffy powder snow."
Niseko Winter
Niseko United consists of 57 runs, 38 lifts and gondolas and over 47 km in groomed slopes. The terrain is sure to please everyone, boasting half-pipes, quarter pipes, table tops, mogul fields, tree runs, lots of natural hits and of course gentle first-timer slopes. The ski resort area starts from an altitude close to sea-level and rises to 1200m, offering over 1000m in elevation.
There is a good mixture of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs, so rest assured that everyone's tastes are catered for!
Lift facilities are very efficient, operating without rest for over 12 hours a day - starting at 8:30am and closing at 9:00pm. Take advantage of the long lift hours and treat yourself to a Niseko highlight – night powder sessions! Visibility is good (even through the trees) with huge areas of the mountain illuminated.
It’s no secret that Niseko’s rise to fame is thanks to the powder snow, but in recent years it has rapidly emerged as a lively ski town as well. The addition of numerous bars and restaurants, catering for all tastes and budgets, means that no visitor will be left wanting for anything. Almost all restaurants have English menus and English speaking staff. All are within walking distance of Niseko Powderhound Lodge and the lifts.

Travelling Tips
Bring CASH. Although numerous outlets in Niseko now accept Visa and Mastercard, cash is still the main form of payment. There is still some reluctance to accept travellers’ cheques in many locations.
Although some of the lifts in Niseko have protective weather hoods, it can be extremely cold on the uncovered lifts, therefore skiers and boarders should be fully prepared with warm gloves and face masks. These are available in the village and on the mountain. Prices vary from ¥1000 to ¥2000.
